School buffer
1,000 ft
Treatment facility buffer
300 ft from residential treatment facilities
Park buffer

How it’s measured
Lot line to lot line (from the main entrance in a shopping center); not across I-494, I-35W or Highway 77
Store cap
None
  • Buffers follow the city’s own buffer maps. A parcel is flagged “check distance” when newer state school records put it inside a buffer.
  • In a shopping center the city measures from the store’s main entrance, and buffers don’t reach across I-494, I-35W or Highway 77, so a blocked parcel can still qualify there: ask the city.
